The third Sacred War for Manholes!
Save infrastructre in Tokyo!!
The Sacred war is the empirical research event to save society from an infrastructure crisis.
1. What is the Sacred war?
You can join this sacred war for manholes with the manhole collection game application “Tetsu To Concrete No Mamoribito(The guardian for iron and concrete)”. What you do is the survey of manholes.
2. Why manholes?
It’s the time to save manholes
Actually, there are 14 million manholes in Japan, and most of the manholes(more than 3 million) have deteriorated recently. It means that they are suddenly broken and you could get injured, or you can’t probably see the sunlight anymore. So, you have to find the deteriorated manholes as soon as possible before it happens. But who is checking 3 million manholes and how does it take? That’s the answer. There are too many manholes, then people can’t check everything. So now you should be the one to start the survey of manholes.
3. You are the manhole saviour
Taking the manhole pictures instead of selfie
No worries, it’s very easy! All you have to do is take the manhole pictures with the smartphone app. Let’s try to complete all manholes in Tokyo 23-wards. But it’s a bit boring only to take the photo, then NPO Whole Earth Foundation started the festival! Let’s join this festival and get the prize money!! Money? Yes, the total bounty is 1 million yen!!
4. How to enjoy this event?
You have three options!
- Check in the place and take the photo which shows the place and status
- Use the satellite image to look for the manholes in Japan and register the one you find
- Write and upload the review of the manholes
