NAGOYA needed more Goals, FC TOKYO conceded too much goals
Both team has Samurai Blue(Japan National Team) squads, and their places are good enough to win the league this season so far.
So it was expected that those teams showed high quality performance to win the game. While both of teams want to get 3 points but their problems are very different.
NAGOYA won all games but they don’t score many goals. On the other hand, FC Tokyo scores multiple goals in a game but also conceded multiple goals as well.

This Season Inagaki’s foot fires!
He scored 3 winning goals in 6 games this season. He was selected as a SAMURAI BLUE squad at the first time and scored the first goal in the first International match, what’s more he also scored two goals in that game.
It’s easy to imagine that his performance is nessesary for NAGOYA to win the game.
In the first half, FC TOKYO created the big chances. TOKYO used one-touch combination, and it made NAGOYA defenders struggle to mark TOKYO players. But AGAIN! LANGERAK saved the goal again and again!!
FC TOKYO attacking players OLIVEIRA, HIGASHI, MITA approached to NAGOYA defenders in the deep NAGOYA area. They prevented NAKATANI and MARUYAMA from building up.
And even those center-backs delivered the ball to attacking players, XAVIER and KAKITANI, OGAWA and MORISHIGE gave them high-pressure not to control the ball.
Both genius KAKITANI and XAVIER didn’t even have the chance to touch the ball a lot as they wanted.

This season, NAGOYA creates chances from YONEMOTO and INAGAKI. They chase and get the ball, and deliver the ball quickly to the attacking players.
But, today FC TOKYO midfielders and defenders didn’t make NAGOYA create the chance from their style. Former SAMURAI BLUE squad, MORISHIGE showed high performance.
He didn’t lose the ball, control the high ball, got the ball with intensive press, and positioned critical area against NAGOYA. And also current SAMURAI BLUE Ryoya OGAWA showed good-defending skills.

Hotaka NAKAMURA who allowed Mateus to create chances got injured in 22 mins. And another NAKAMURA, Takumi came on as a substitute to replace him.
As everyone who knows Takumi admits that he has good skills to control the ball and a good football brain, but he proved that his 1 on 1 defending skill is also top level in J1 League.
Because all clubs which played the game against NAGOYA failed to stop Mateus and SOMA, but Takumi did it even though he suddenly came on the pitch without warming up.
Today’s performance against Mateus definitely gave him great confidence.
In 22 mins second half, Yuki SOMA and Manabu SAITO came on the pitch. They moved forward with the ball, and changed the game. Manabu SAITO seems that he gradually fits NAGOYA GRAMPUS Football!
Their dribble helped Mateus create the chance, and the cross was deliverd to KAKITANI several times, but FC TOKYO WATANABE and OGAWA blocked the cross.
Considering above data, both teams mainly attacked from left side, It’s not too much saying that both right full-backs(Takumi and MIYAHARA) performance contributed to get 1 point.
This season NAGOYA center-backs MARUYAMA and NAKATANI show good defending performance in all games. But the best defender in this game was Tsuyoshi WATANABE.
He quickly reacted the NAGOYA’s counter attack which created chances and goals this season, and he swiped all their chances. Though FC TOKYO didn’t win the game, Stopping NAGOYA’s win meant a lot for FC TOKYO.
Though NAGOYA didn’t keep consecutive win from the opening match, they haven’t lost any games this season yet, and they have placed the second place after giant champion KAWASAKI.
They just conceded the goal from the own-goal. Record stop is nothing for them. They will keep doing what they did. In the other hand, I keep saying that they need a striker till Mu KANASAKI is back.
The rumor which Kasper Junker joined NAGOYA was just one night dream(Actually he decided to join URAWA Reds). The concern to score the goal still remains.
KAKITANI was assigned to the striker in this game, but he didn’t score the goal again. All NAGOYA supporters are looking forward to seeing his first goal as a NAGOYA player to swipe their concerns.
