J.League 2022 | Who will survive? vol.4
Two to Four games are left in the 2022 season, J.League(Japan professional football league). Yokohama F.Marinos lost against G.Osaka last weekend, nobody still knows which club will get the title. And, it’s more challenging to predict which club will get relegated.
1. What happened last weekend?
Kobe and G.Osaka made a giant killing
Kobe defeated Hiroshima(the 3rd place) and the most surprising result was that G.Osaka won against F.Marinos(the 1st place). Though G.Osaka is still facing the relegated risk, this result greatly impacted the survival race. Shimizu almost won the game(2-3 against Kawasaki) but got zero points. They will need to win two more games. Shonan scored two beautiful goals and won 2-0 against FC.Tokyo.
Kyoto got 1 point against Nagoya. Shonan, Kyoto, and Kobe were up to the safe place.
But they still need to collect winning points to survive. No clubs should get their guard down.
IWATA still has a chance to survive
Even though some IWATA supporters gave up this season, they still have a chance to survive. It will be difficult to win against Yokohama.F.Marinos, but the other three matches are against the clubs which face the same situation as Iwata.
Iwata hasn’t won the game since July… But they scored 5 goals in the last two games, which means there are ways to win. Shota Kaneko saved the club again with a beautiful goal, and the striker Kenyu Sugimoto finally scored the first goal this season. Their situation is getting better and better, but they need to improve more and more. Because they can not miss any points anymore.
