What is Runtime?
Runtime is the phase of executing the program, or it is the component to run the program.
- Runtime is the running phase of a program.
- It is the final phase of a computer program’s life cycle.
- Runtime is something necessary to execute the program.
1. Runtime | Runtime = Run Time
Let’s imagine the word meaning, Runtime can be split into Run and Time. It means that it is the time when the program runs. In other words, it is the time when the program is executed.
But engineers don’t often use this word as the time to execute. They use this word as something necessary to execute the program.
There is the word, “Runtime library”, or we also call this “Runtime module” and “Runtime package”.
Anyway,
Let’s think about Runtime as something necessary to execute the program!
It means that the program doesn’t work without “Runtime”.
